Castel San Giovanni in provincia di Perugia è solo una piccola frazione del paese di Castel Ritaldi. Poche case antiche e paesaggi da sogno tra ulivi e vigneti. Castel San Giovanni è famoso più che altro per la fortezza Albornoziana risalente al XIV secolo e fortemente voluta da Federico II, fu per molto tempo luogo di contese e battaglie tra le città di Trevi e Spoleto.
Castel San Giovanni in the Perugia province is just a small suburb of the bigger village of Castel Rinaldi. Few old houses and stunning landscapes surrounded by Olive trees and Vineyards. Castel San Giovanni is popular because of its fortress built by Albornoz under commitment of Federico II, during the XIV century. The fortress has been for long time a place of battles and quarrels between the cities of Trevi and Spoleto.

Sette stanze, ognuna delle quali presenta il nome di una fibra naturale: Canapa, Seta, Lino, Juta, Cotone, Lana e Cashmere. Sempre nel pieno rispetto dell’ambiente, il ristorante dell’Albergo Diffuso propone solo piatti tipici di stagione, utilizzando rigorosamente prodotti locali.
Right inside this marvelous compound dated back to 1300, there is the Albergo Diffuso Torre della Botonta which develops completely on the ancient buildings of the fortress: the bank, the old town hall, the bakery and the watchtower. A totally green building focussed to restore the old materials, the local architectural typology and the past atmospheres. Seven rooms each one has the name of a natural fiber: Hemp, Silk, Linen, Juta, Cotton, Wool and Cashmere. Always respecting the environment, the restaurant of the Albergo Diffuso offers just seasonal menus and it uses only local ingredients. 
Ma il vero gioiello di questo suggestivo AD è il Rivellino, una grotta di collegamento tra la torre e il torrione est, risalente al 1460, dove oggi vengono celebrate cena a tema oppure cenette romantiche a lume di candela. Si tratta di un vero e proprio lusso unico nel suo genere.
But the real masterpiece of this AD is the Rivellino, a connection cave between the watchtower and the eastern tower, dated back to 1460. Today inside the Rivellino there are themed events and romantic dinners.
