Se non sapessi che (b)ananartista è un rispettato artista patafisico con tanto di esposizione dei proprio quadri alla Biennale di Venezia, farei fatica a contemplare il personaggio e di sicuro non mi sarei nemmeno avvicinano a “Il Tronista”, il suo primo album. E anche guardando la copertina effettivamente qualche ritrosia è molto facile mostrarla.
Per fortuna so tutto questo e non mi lascio fregare dalle apparenze, altrimenti non sarei qui a raccontarvi di un disco assurdo, ironico, eccentrico sin dai titoli, ma anche molto romantico, pop nel senso pieno del termine, grazie ai suoni tra lo-fi e synth pop, ai testi svagati e surreali ma nonostante questo sempre molto a fuoco e centrati. Non c’è nulla di conformista, regolare o etichettabile, è tutto molto libero, urgente e sincero. Niente compromessi.
If you did not know that (b)ananartista is a respected Pataphysician (look wikipedia) artist with a lot of exposure of his paintings at the Venice Biennale, I would find it hard to contemplate the character and for sure I would not even close to “The Tronista”, his first album. And even looking at the cover actually some reluctance is very easy to show it. Luckily I know all this and I will not be fooled by appearances, otherwise I would not be here to tell a disk absurd, ironic, since the eccentric titles, but also very romantic, pop in the full sense of the term, thanks to the sounds of lo-fi and synth pop, texts absent-minded and surreal but nevertheless always very focused and centered. There is nothing conformist, adjust or labels, it’s all very free, urgent and sincere. No compromises.
