Luke Ramsey artista canadese, fondatore di Islands Fold, incubatore per artisti visivi (e forse anche visionari). Il lavoro di questo trentenne, grafico, illustratore e street artist, si muove tra contesti diversi: parte dalla strada in gioventù e arriva alla carta, siano essi libri sia progetti su commissione.
Il suo lavoro è senza ombra di dubbio un affermazione di essenzialità e pulizia nonostante i suoi disegni siano saturi, non sfonda mai le porte della noia o dell’esagerazione, riuscendo a costruire situazioni illustrative piene di fascino e di rimandi culturali. Il classico stile che sta bene su qualsiasi oggetto e superficie proprio perchè sa essere diretto ma mai banale.
This is Luke Ramsey a Canadian artist, founder of Islands Fold, an incubator for visual artists (and perhaps even visionary). The work of this thirty years old, graphic designer, illustrator and street artist, moves between different contexts: from the street in his youth and get to the paper, whether books or projects on commission. His work is without a doubt a statement of simplicity and cleanliness in spite of his drawings are saturated, it never breaks through the doors of boredom or exaggeration, managing to build illustrative situations full of charm and cultural references. The classic style that is comfortable on any object surface and just because he can be direct but never boring.
