Presentandovi l’artista di questa settimana potrei citare uno slogan degli ultimi anni: “mi piace vincere facile”. Ma questa volta mi piace anche parlare di una cosa che mi sta particolarmente a cuore, perchè è stata una delle prime cose che ho scoperto quando mi sono avvicinato seriamente al web e all’illustrazione.
Nelle mie prime digressioni alla ricerca di immaginari, ispirazioni, suggestioni visive e non, l’incontro con il lavoro di Matthew Woodson è stato al posto giusto e al momento giusto.
È difficile da scegliere all’interno della sua produzione, ma dove si cade si cade bene. Da una parte i lavori su commissione, che mantengono sempre i tratti caratteristici e gli umori del suo disegno, e dall’altra i lavori sequenziali forti come un pugno sullo stomaco.
