Osservando i progetti di Ilaria Innocenti, designer di origine emiliana classe 1983, non si può non rimanere colpiti dalla loro varietà e ricercatezza; in particolare da due di questi che definirei agli antipodi, soprattutto per i materiali utilizzati ma che riassumono bene a mio parere la sua attività fino ad oggi. Uno è Adobe, una collezione di accessori per l’ufficio, creati utilizzando l’antica tecnica di produzione dei mattoni. Cinque elementi (porta documenti, supporto per tablet / specchio da tavolo, portamatite, fermacarte, vaschetta portaoggetti) dalle forme pure realizzati con cinque diverse varietà di argilla che conferiscono agli oggetti altrettante tonalità di colore. Il tutto è ingentilito dai frame di metallo colorato che sostengono i volumi in terracotta e ne esaltano l’aspetto essenziale. Leggerezza e pesantezza unite in un unico oggetto.
L’altro è la serie di tappeti per Karpeta, azienda specializzata nella produzione di tappeti artigianali di cui Ilaria è dal 2013 Art Director. Look etnico ma tono contemporaneo in un gioco di combinazioni geometriche dai colori tenui, pattern e decorazioni studiate per essere adatti a qualsiasi tipo di ambiente, un perfetto mix fra tradizione e design. Ilaria aveva già iniziato questa sua ricerca nel campo tessile, nel 2010 partecipando al Fuorisalone, con una serie di tappeti prodotti con telaio a mano e annodati – sempre a mano – secondo la tradizionale tecnica di produzione sarda.
Looking at the projects by Ilaria Innocenti, Emilia-born designer in 1983, it is impossible not to be impressed by their variety and refinement; in particular from two of these that I would define poles apart, especially for the materials used, but which summed up well in my opinion her activity until today. One of them is Adobe, a is an office and homework collection of desk tools made using the ancient technique of manual brick’s production. Five elements (documents tray, tablet stand / table mirror, pencil holder, paper holder, storage tray) pure shaped, made with five different varieties of clay which give the objects as many shades of color. Everything is softened by colored metal frame supporting volumes the terracotta and enhancing the essential aspect. Lightness and heaviness merged into a single object. The other is the series of carpets for Karpeta, a company specialized in the production of handmade carpets where Ilaria is the Art Director from 2013. Ethnic look but contemporary spirit in a game of geometric combinations of soft colours, pattern and decorations designed to be suitable for any type of environment, a perfect mix between tradition and design. Ilaria had already started her research in the field of textiles, in 2010 taking part at Fuorisalone, with a series of carpets built with hand looms and hand- knotted according to the traditional Sardinian production technique.
