Per vari motivi nel corso degli anni dalla nascita dello skateboarding, gli skater hanno utilizzato scarpe non realizzate appositamente per skateare. Partendo dalla Air jordan 1 di cui avevamo già parlato, soprattutto nei primi periodi sono stati diversi i modelli di sneakers utilizzati.
