Se guardare questa foto non suscita in voi alcun tipo di ricordo – bello o brutto che sia –, allora significa che siete davvero molto giovani. Per chi invece negli anni ’90 sedeva già davanti a un computer questa immagine è assai familiare e nei più geek procurerà pure un po’ di nostalgia.
Il Floppytable ideato dal duo berlinese formato da Marian Neulant e Axel van Exel è un omaggio a un oggetto cult dell’informatica di fine secolo: oltre che nell’inconfondibile aspetto estetico, descritto davvero in ogni dettaglio, il tavolino riprende anche un’altra caratteristica dei floppy disk, la copertura metallica scorrevole, sotto la quale si nasconde un comodo portaoggetti.
Realizzato in acciaio e costruito interamente a mano su richiesta del committente, con tanto di numero di serie inciso a laser, il Floppytable può essere ordinato direttamente ai suoi creatori inviando una semplice mail. Ma per averlo dovrete dimostrare di essere dei veri nerd, non tanto per particolari criteri di selezione quanto per il prezzo, che si aggira intorno ai 700 euro.

Floppytable has been created by a duo from Berlin composed by Marian Neulant and Axel van Exel. It is a tribute to a cult informatics object used in the end of the century: beyond the unmistakable aesthetic aspect, described in every detail, this small table draws on also an other floppy disk characteristic, the metallic flowing covering, under that you can find a comfortable compartment. It is made of steel and completely craftsmanship on the user request, with the serial number impressed with laser. Floppytable can be directly ordered from its creators sending a simple e-mail. But, you have to show to be a real nerd, not for particular selection criteria but for its price, that is about 700 euro.
