Una cosa che mi piace dell’illustrazione – non di tutta, ma di una parte di sicuro – è il fatto di poterla guardare e riguardare senza annoiarmi. Non so questo a cosa sia dovuto in particolare. Probabilmente alla freschezza del tratto o dell’essere capace di comunicare. Nel caso di Tom Clohosy Cole credo che sia la sua innegabile capacità di essere classico senza però risultare già visto.
Inglese di Brighton ma di stanza a Londra, Tom riesce a creare immagini con un’impronta ben precisa e personale in grado però di adattarsi ai contesti che le storie e i clienti che incontra. Umorismo, malinconica e una spigliatezza gli permettono di raccontare tutto con un disegno.
One thing that I like of the illustration – not all, but a part for sure – it’s the fact that we can see it again and again without getting bored. I do not know what this is due in particular. Probably the freshness of stroke or being able to communicate. In the case of Tom Clohosy Cole I think it’s his undeniable ability to be classic but not be seen before. English in Brighton but based in London, Tom is able to create images with a footprint precise and staff however, able to adapt to the contexts that the stories and the customers they meet. Humor, melancholy and a fluency allow him to tell the whole story with a drawing.
