Cose d’altri tempi. Eh no, non stiamo parlando di luoghi comuni ma di un couturier vecchio stampo nell’epoca del fast and future. Il suo nome è Gianluca Saitto e nel suo atelier nel cuore di Brera, a Milano, si respira il profumo delle cose che non ci sono più. Gli abiti vengono creati artigianalmente e finemente ricamati a mano proprio da Gianluca in persona. I tessuti e le decorazioni rivivono l’epoca che rappresentano ma reinterpretati in chiave moderna con asimmetrie e movimenti che richiamano l’ultima frontiera in fatti di ricerca e di stile.

Come nasce l’idea di impreziosire abiti dal taglio moderno e contemporaneo con i ricami raffinati e complicati?
L’idea del ricamo nacque quasi casualmente, volevo impreziosire la superficie del tessuto dell’abito, come il pittore dipinge la sua tela. Quindi iniziai con delle prove molto basiche e pian piano, esercitando la pazienza ed indagando tecniche e materiali sono riuscito a portarlo al livello a cui è arrivato oggi. Il ricamo senza dubbio si associa pienamente al concetto di lusso. Un qualcosa di unico, prezioso e soprattutto realizzato interamente a mano, come una vera e propria opera d’arte.
Quanto tempo impieghi a fare un ricamo? Come li immagini, a che cosa ti ispiri?
Il ricamo del 2014? Le tempistiche dei ricami variano a seconda di diversi parametri quali la dimensione, le tecniche e i materiali utilizzati. Per quanto riguarda le ispirazioni possono essere le più svariate. Questo autunno inverno la collezione sarà ispirata ai tarocchi e all’alchimia, di conseguenza declinata anche ai dettagli e al ricamo. Se non avessi fatto questo lavoro cosa pensi avresti fatto bhe dato che faccio questo lavoro non mi sono mai posto l’alternativa anche a livello di solo pensiero, sicuramente sarei rimasto nell’ambito artistico. altre miei grandi passioni sono la storia dell’arte, l’archeologia, l’antiquariato, che riesco in ogni modo a coltivare, quindi forse qualcosa fra queste.

Cosa rappresenta per te lo stile?
Lo stile è un modo di fare, di rappresentarsi, di porsi.. un insieme di elementi innati che vanno a completare il carattere di una persona.
Cosa apprezzi della manualità di questo lavoro?
La manualità di questo lavoro porta nei momenti di concentrazione a pensare molto e a riflettere. i pensieri possono spaziare a tutti i livelli; penso sia un ottimo esercizio. il vedere nascere dalle proprie mani un qualsiasi oggetto o progetto penso sia sempre molto emozionate. come se si facesse da tramite con il proprio corpo tra l’idea e la sua creazione materiale.
Chi sono le tue clienti?
Le mie clienti sono molto varie, si tratta di ragazze e signore molto attente al particolare, al dettaglio, al capo non serializzato, che vogliono distinguersi per stile e buongusto. Ho il piacere e l’onore di vestire diverse artiste, fra cui a livello ufficiale Patty Pravo. Penso che questa grande artista possa essere l’esempio a cui mi ispiro e riesca a rappresentare perfettamente il mio mondo.
Things of the past. Eh no, we are not talking about commonplaces but about a courtier with an old printing in the age of fast and future. His name is Gianluca Saitto and in his atelier in the heart of Brera, in Milan, you can breathe the taste of things that are no longer. Clothes are homemade and they are finely embroidered by Gianluca’s hands. Tissues and decorations live the age that they represent but they are reinterpreted in a modern key with asymmetries and movements that recall the last border about research and style. How was born the idea to make precious these clothes that have a modern and contemporary cutting by some complicated and refined embroideries? The idea of embroideries was born by chance, I wanted to make precious the surface of dresses tissue, like a painter paints his canvas. So, I started with some really basic proofs and little by little, exercising my patience and researching some techniques and materials, I could bring it to the level it is today. The embroidery could be associated to the luxury concept. Something unique, precious and above all completely homemade, like a real work of art. How long do you take to make an embroidery? What is your inspiration? The 2014 embroidery? The timing of embroideries changes on the base of different parameters, for example dimension, techniques and materials. Inspirations could be numerous. This fall winter collection will be inspired to tarots and alchemy, so details and embroideries will be dedicated to that. If you hadn’t this job, what would you have done? Well, I do this job, so I have never asked myself what I could do. I’m sure I would have worked in the art sector. I have other passions like history of art, archeology, antiques, I can cultivate them, so probably I would have worked in one of these sectors. What represents the style, in your opinion? Style is a way of doing, of representing, of acting.. a set of natural elements that complete the one’s personality. What do you appreciate in the manual skill of this work? Manual skill let you think while you are concentrate in working. Thoughts can move at all the levels; I think that’s an excellent exercise. I think that’s exciting seeing that an object or a project comes from your own hands. Like you were the mean between the idea and the material creation. Who are your customers? My customers are different. They are girls and women who care of details, who want an original cloth, they want to be distinguished for their style and taste. I have the pleasure and the honor to dress different artists, for example Patty Pravo. I think that this great artist could be an example of my inspirations. I think she represents my own world in a perfect way.
