Imbattersi in Walter Van Beirendonck è stata decisamente una scoperta e uno shock! Stilista belga, formatosi anche da Gianfranco Ferrè, mi dava l’idea di uno stilista innovativo ma tradizionalista, e in parte avevo ragione, ma guardando la sua nuova collezione “Shut your eyes to see”, ho capito che non avevo minimamente idea di quanto mi aspettassi. La maggioranza dei suoi capi sembrano delle opere d’arte da ammirare e da appendere al muro piuttosto che da indossare.
La giacca con ricamato il volto stilizzato, mi ricorda lo stile di Salvador Dalì, il maglione con le frange e i rombi sembra un’opera di pop art, la giacca dai mille colori, sembra un dettaglio di un quadro di Monet. E fin qui la parte “tradizionalista”, poi si svela la parte “innovativa” fatta di inserti dall’effetto metallico a riprodurre fulmini, sul bavero della giacca piuttosto che sul dorso dei cappotti, che ricordano il simbolo di Flash di fumettiana memoria, piuttosto che frange abbondanti, come bracciali ornamentali di qualche costume del carnevale di Rio, o contrasti di forme, da estremamente ed esageratamente abbondanti, abbinate al loro opposto, quindi strettissime. Di tutti i capi, apprezzo decisamente di più la parte tradizionalista, trovo molto interessante la giacca in tessuto metallico e broccato, che produce un effetto lucido e dei motivi molto interessanti. Per quanto riguarda il resto, lascio voi giudicare.
