Lacrime d’impulsività e fatica. Lacrime d’arte.

A “one our thing”, our brothers’ unity, of ideas and energy. Valentina on the phone, with the baby in the background, seems to be talking about the family, but is talking instead of a brand. Their brand, born from the family company RI.VA.S than for thirty years is specialized in hand-crafted wood. Valentina and Riccardo Sartori are the company’s heirs, but also the founders of “Lacrime d’Arte” a brand that offers unique pieces of furniture design made with craftsmanship. Born a little ‘by chance a bit ‘by game, for a display’s table for the company, the first work dated in 2009 paves the way to a job that fascinates the brothers every day. The works, ever created on commission, are born from the creative impulsiveness that animate Valentina and Riccardo followed by a long and tiring design. “In reference of this fatigue’s process and subsequent satisfaction – she explains me – refers to the brand name Lacrime d’Arte”. All eight artworks are born from a concept, which suggests a form, and only at the end meets function. Also the last artwork “Attesa” was born in this way, a seat couple related to the motherhood’s concept that Valentina was living, a double seat that wants to describe a time between the event’s pre-announcement and its occurrence, through the wrapping and warmth of wood that protects like a shell all the preciousness of marble balls. Rossana Orlandi, famous art-design gallery director, has selected it for its Feriarte’s pavilion that she curated, the art and antiquities exhibition happenend in Madrid in contemporary of Product Design Madrid.
