We got so much attached to our Italian grand tour through the small villages of undiscovered Italy that we could not hide to you even these two new summer entries: Albergo Diffuso Mamma Ciccia that we are going to meet today, and another one in Tuscany. Mandello del Lario is surrounded by some of the most beautiful places in the world, such as Bellagio, Como, Lecco, Varenna. It is crowned by amazing mountains but it only has the quiet and elegant lake waters in front of it.
Mamma Ciccia was born from the idea to recover the courtyard, cellars and the old store of grandparents to create not only a restaurant, rather a complex mix of harmonious ambients, to offer to whoever decides to visit the astonishing village of Mandello del Lario, a complete experience. From mum’s recipes, to the elegant cellar happy hour, from the sailing tours to the colorful bedrooms, each one with its story and personality. Mamma Ciccia starts from the daily simple cuisine that unites all the families of our country. The menu changes every day and the dishes, as the owners say, aren’t very elegant or sophisticated but they perfectly personify the passion and love for local ingredients, so that everybody can discover the real flavors of the lake.
All the sailing lovers can enjoy the family boat, which is used also during summer to organize striking dinners. Each bedroom is characterized by a different color and even if they are furnished in a modern style, they still can transmit the real and authentic soul of the village, with their simple and genuine hospitality. First of all, Mamma Ciccia is passion. It was born from a daily action, as cooking, to transform it in a ritual, a real masterpiece of love, care and attention to all the small details that guests can find in each dish of the menu.
