Dove si può degustare il miglior piatto di spaghetti all’amatriciana in Italia?! Ovviamente, nel luogo dove questo delizia gastronomica è stata ideata e cucinata per la prima volta: nella cittadina di Amatrice, in provincia di Rieti. Questo borgo laziale però, non è solamente il capoluogo culinario del sugo all’amatriciana e della pasta alla carbonara, ma è soprattutto un gioiello di arte e natura. In una sua piccola frazione, chiamata Retrosi sorge un Albergo Diffuso dalla storia particolarmente interessante. / Where can you taste the best spaghetti all’amatriciana in Italy?! Of course, right in the place where they have been cooked for the first time: in Amatrice, province of Rieti. This small village of Lazio region is not only the capital of the amatriciana sauce, but it is also a jewel of art and nature. In Retrosi, one of its hamlets, rises an Albergo Diffuso, with a particularly interesting story.
Villa Retrosi si trova proprio all’interno del Parco del Gran Sasso e dei Monti della Laga, situato al crocevia di Lazio, Abruzzo, Marche e Umbria, il piccolo borgo è poco distante da alcuni dei più bei parchi naturali italiani, a nord infatti è delimitato dal Parco dei Monti Sibillini, a est dai Monti della Laga, a sud dal Gran Sasso, infine a ovest dal Terminillo. Un vero capolavoro della natura, dove i boschi, le cascate, i monti innevati, i fiumi e i laghi rapiscono, con la loro assoluta bellezza, i visitatori e gli escursionisti. / Villa Retrosi is right inside the natural park of Grand Sasso and Monti della Laga, it is placed near the borders of four regions: Lazio, Abruzzo, Umbria, Marche. This small village is nearby some of the most popular natural park in Italy, in the north there is the Parco dei Monti Sibillini, in the east side the Monti della Laga, the Gran Sasso forms the south boundary of the village, while the Terminillo is in the west side. A real natural masterpiece, in which woods, waterfalls, snowy mountains, rivers and lake charm the visitors with theirs absolute beauty.
Villa Retrosi è un AD ricavato dalle antiche case della transumanza risalenti al 1800, che sono collegate tra di loro attraverso sentieri e mulattiere secolari. Un luogo totalmente fuori dal tempo, dove è la natura a dettare i ritmi della giornata e dove potersi rilassare, ascoltando i suoi dolci suoni. La storia di questo piccola frazione di Amatrice, non è sempre stata florida, per tutta la durata del ‘900 infatti, Retrosi ha subito un progressivo abbandono da parte dei suoi abitanti, diretti verso la capitale romana. Il paese era per la maggior parte dell’anno vuoto, abbandonato e in via di decadimento, solo in estate rimaneva il punto di ritrovo di un gruppo di amici, originari del luogo. Fu il 2001 però l’anno decisivo per l’avvio del progetto che avrebbe riportato Retrosi alla vita: il gruppo di amici, sempre più numeroso decise infatti di ristrutturare le case antiche presenti nel borgo, per adibirle a un uso turistico. Nasce l’AD Villa Retrosi, che non solo salva il paese dal decadimento strutturale, ma lo rende una meta turistica apprezzata in tutta Italia. / Villa Retrosi is an Albergo Diffuso, obtained by old houses used during the transumanza (when shepherds used to move their herds during the summer season), these houses date back to 1800 and they are connected between themselves with centuries old trails. A place totally out of time, where nature dictates the rhythms of the day, and where you can relax, listening to the sweet natural sounds. The story of Retrosi hasn’t always been prosperous, in facts all along the XX century its inhabitants left the village to emigrate to Rome. So, it was empty for the most part of the year, abandoned and declining. Only during summer it was the meeting place of a group of friends, who were born there. It was 2001 the crucial year for the launch of the project to revitalize Retrosi. The group of friends, who was even larger, decided to restore the old houses inside the village and to use them for tourism hospitality. The AD Villa Retrosi was finally born, the project hasn’t only saved the village from decline, but it turned it into a tourism destination known all over the country.
Le case di Villa Retrosi hanno un gusto antico, ma con quel tocco di modernità che permette agli ospiti di sentirsi pienamente a loro agio. Inoltre, nel centro del paese, è stata aperta anche una bottega gastronomica, chiamata Serafino, dove è possibile acquistare le produzioni agroalimentari locali, tutte coltivate in modo biologico e lavorate secondo le tradizioni amatriciane. / The houses of Villa Retrosi look very ancient, but they also have a touch of modernity that make guests feel at home. Moreover, in the city centre they opened a grocery called Serafino, in which visitors can buy any kind of typical food and wine, everything is organically grown following the local traditions.
