Eugenia è il nome di sua madre, una donna che con forza e coraggio segue l’amore per i figli e per il suo compagno, lasciando il Mozambico per trasferirsi in un piccolo paesino della Puglia. La capacità innata di capire il talento nelle persone la spinge ad orientare fin da piccolo suo figlio verso la musica. Melodie narrate a pianoforte, ritmi scanditi dalla chitarra jazz e una sola voce: cosi si presenta Mafè. Molto presto inizia lezioni di musica e diventa corista gospel del Wanted Chorus. La svolta arriva con i provini di “Notre Dame de Paris” opera musicale di Riccardo Cocciante. Dal salotto di casa passa ad un palcoscenico senza avere né esperienza né preparazione. Purtroppo non supera le ultime selezioni, ma la sconfitta non lascia l’amaro in bocca, bensì voglia di fare, di studiare e realizzare quello che vuole fare da grande, il cantautore. Dopo la laurea in comunicazione inizia a lavorare come web designer per mantenere gli studi musicali. “Tra sogno e realtà”, citando una sua canzone, Mafè si trasferisce a Milano dove continua il suo percorso di formazione. Le casualità della vita fanno incrociare la sua strada con Saturnino Celani, che scopre il talento di Mafè e lo incoraggia a maturare uno stile musicale ancora acerbo. Da suo sostenitore Saturnino lo coinvolge in alcuni progetti in cui collaborano, finché non arriva il momento di farcela da solo. La piattaforma Music Raiser è la grande opportunità che stava aspettando: in poco tempo utenti di tutto il mondo hanno finanziato spontaneamente il disco “Colonna sonora di un film che non c’è” di Mafè Almeida e The White Muffin. Lui ama definire il suo stile Power Pop perchè la musica trasmette energia positiva come il più potente antidolorifico. Ed ora basta premere play… / Eugenia is the name of his mother, a woman who follow love with strength and courage, leaving Mozambique and moved to a small town in Puglia. The innate ability to understand the talent in people leads to direct his son to the music. Narrated piano melodies, rhythms from jazz guitar and one voice: so looks Mafè. Very soon he began music lessons and he becomes a gospel singer in the Wanted Chorus. The turning point came with the auditions of the musical “Notre Dame de Paris” by Riccardo Cocciante. From an house living room to a stage without having either experience or preparation. Unfortunately he has not pass the latest selections, and the defeat does not leave a bitter taste, but want to do, to study and to realize what he wants to became: a singer-songwriter. After his graduation in communication he began working as a web designer to maintain his musical studies. “Between dream and reality,” citing one of his songs, Mafè moved to Milan where he continued his training. Randomness of life, he cross his paths with Saturnino Celani, who discovers the talent in Mafè and he encourages him to mature musical style still immature. As a supporter Saturnino involved him in a number of projects in which they work togheter, until the time comes to do it alone. The platform Music Raiser is the great opportunity that he was waiting, in a short time users around the world have voluntarily financed the album “Colonna sonora di un fim che non c’è” by Mafe Almeida and The White Muffin. – il tuo colore… blu come l’oceano, il mare e il cielo, gli elementi naturali che mi ricordano il luogo dove sono cresciuto, mi suggeriscono tranquillità e serenità.
– la tua parola chiave… fede. Fede nella vita e nei propri sogni, fede verso le persone, meglio un abbraccio che una stretta di mano. Tutti coloro che hanno finanziato il mio disco si sono fidati, hanno dimostrato fede per la musica.
– cosa ha fatto scattare il cambiamento… l’esperienza con “Notre Dame de Paris” che ha fatto scattare in me la voglia di studiare e di farcela, il dolore della perdita di mia madre e l’orgoglio di essere suo figlio.
– cosa o chi ti ha ispirato… mia madre Eugenia e l’amore per lei
– la goccia che ha fatto traboccare il tuo vaso… quando ho capito che volevo fare musica di mestiere e che per raggiungere il mio obiettivo dovevo superare quelli che credevo essere i miei limiti.
– salto nel vuoto o nel materasso… in assoluto nel vuoto! Senza nessuna certezza mi sono diretto verso l’ignoto. Credo che la paura sia importante perché ti fa essere umile e rispettoso verso quello che non conosci.
– la crisi, opportunità o minaccia… opportunità nella maniera più assoluta! Nelle crisi ci sono immense possibilità di crescita e di sviluppo. I momenti difficili ci insegnano a trovare la forza dentro di noi per superarli.
– presente e passato: il tuo prima e il tuo adesso… ho amato il mio passato, ma mi sentivo incompleto, per questo preferisco il presente, nel quale sto vivendo l’inizio di un percorso verso la realizzazione dei miei sogni.
– progetti futuri… questo mese esce il mio primo disco “Colonna sonora di un film che non c’è” realizzato insieme a The White Muffin. Vorrei continuare a proseguire ed alimentare il mio progetto di fare musica.

– your motto in life… be people and not a sort of invention from the heart: we must not necessarily be what we are not.
– your colour… blue as the ocean, the sea and the sky, the natural elements that remind me the place where I grew up, I’d suggest tranquility and serenity
– your key word… faith. Faith in life and in dreams, faith in people, it’s better an hug than a handshake. All those who have supported my hard they trusted, they have shown faith in music.
– what triggered the change… the experience with “Notre Dame de Paris” that triggered the desire to study, the pain of the loss of my mother and the pride of being his son.
– what or who inspired you… my mother Eugenia and the love for her.
– what was the straw that broke the camel’s back… when I realized that I wanted to do music as a job, and to reach my goal I had to overcome what I thought my limits.
– jumping into a void or a mattress… absolute in the void! Without any certainty I headed into the unknown. I believe that fear is important because it makes you humble and respectful towards what you do not know.
– the crisis: opportunity or threat… opportunities in the most absolute way! In crises there are great opportunities for growth and development. The difficult times teach us to find the strength within us to overcome.
– past and present: how things were or how things are… I loved my past, but I felt incomplete, so I prefer this one, in which I am experiencing the beginning of a journey towards the realization of my dreams.
– future plans… this month i’m going to release my first album, “Colonna sonora di un fim che non c’è” recorded with The White Muffin. I will continue to pursue and feed my project of making music. [/column]
