Ola Giertz questa volta ha voluto lasciare da parte linearità e precisione per aprire le porte ad un’imprevedibile casualità. Gli è bastato avere tra le mani un tubo di metallo rosso, che ha saputo sapientemente piegare ed attorcigliare su se stesso, per dare vita a questa intricata Thread Bench.
Una creazione artigianale, fluida e vibrante, che ricorda la vaghezza e la spontaneità di un gioco infantile. Il designer ha saputo, infatti, far emergere il lato più istintivo ed immediato del suo processo creativo per realizzare un’opera schietta ed ironica.Ci troviamo di fronte ad un garbuglio metallico che sintetizza giocosamente le linee di un’ariosa seduta. La rigorosa simmetria qui esplode, per lasciare il posto ad una creazione caotica ed instabile, ma soltanto all’apparenza. Esiste anche un video che mostra la creazione del prototipo, e non so voi, ma io ho un debole per le miniature.
This time, Ola Giertz wanted to put aside the linearity and the preciseness to open the doors to an unforeseeable fortuity. It was sufficient to keep in his hands a red metallic tube that he could wisely bend and twist on its self, to create this intricate Thread Bench. A fluid and vibrant handmade creation remindful the vagueness and the spontaneity of a childish game. In fact, this designer wanted to emerge the most instinct and immediate side of his creative process to realize an ironic and opened work. We are in front of a metallic tangle that summarize playfully the lines of an airy sitting. Here the rigorous symmetry breaks up to leave its place to a chaotic and instable creation, but it’s only apparent.
